WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Sunset Mountain Retreat is a luxury vacation rental, and as such is fully equipped and furnished. The chef’s kitchen includes top-of-the-line appliances and all the dishes and cookware you need to make delicious meals, and the pantry is stocked with spices and condiments. We also provide complimentary locally roasted organic coffee (as well as tea), organic creamer, farm-fresh organic eggs, and butter. Bread from our local bakery is provided as well. All linens, towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are supplied, as are toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and sponges. Please bring anything you would if you were staying in an upscale hotel. We take care of the rest!

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED, AND WHEN WILL I RECEIVE CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS?

We are located just 2.5 miles from downtown Asheville, on Town Mountain Road. We’ll provide you with exact location and check-in instructions 24 hours before your arrival. The home is set up for easy self check-in, but as your hosts and the homeowners, we are readily available if you need our services.

WHAT ARE YOUR CHECK-IN AND CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in is available any time after 3pm, and check-out is 11am. We are happy to accommodate early check-ins and late check-outs if possible, so just ask!

WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING? CAN I GET AN UBER?

There is free parking on site, and Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area.

DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN OR PETS?

Unfortunately, as luxury lodging, Sunset Mountain Retreat is not suitable for small children. The home itself is not childproof, and there are outside areas that could be unsafe for little ones. We do, however, accept children over 12. We do not allow pets at this time.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF US WHEN WE LEAVE?

Inside the home you’ll find a handbook that will give you lots of tips about the house and that includes a page dedicated to check-out instructions. We don’t ask much, just that you start the dishwasher, place towels in the bathtub, turn off all the lights, and lock the doors. The cleaning fee is included when you book, so you don’t need to do anything else!

IS THIS A LEGAL RENTAL?

Yes! Sunset Mountain Retreat is located a stone’s throw from Asheville city limits (even being so close to downtown), so we are registered with Buncombe County as one of the area’s legal Airbnb rentals. When you book with us, you don’t have to worry about any last-minute cancellations due to legal issues.
